Frhliches Blutsaugen ^^

 - This ESP adds a custom race for a better Argonian vampirism experience. To make some integral Oblivion scripts accept custom races, the two following mods are REQUIRED to run this mod.

o "Boethia Shrine Custom Race Fix", created by Damos.
Makes the Boethia Shrine quest accept any custom race.
   Download at: http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=3500
o "Custom Race Fix", by Kynetarse.
Makes the prisonar NPC in the cell across from you accept custom races.
   Download at: http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=1815

 - Extract this zip into Oblivion's Data folder. It will add
 o Vaarey.dds to data\textures\characters\eyes\
 o teethupperargonianvampire.nif to data\meshes\characters\argonianvampire\
o this readme and the BAV ESP to the DATA folder

 - Start the Oblivion Launcher, click on Data Files and add the BAV mod.

     2. Usage & General Issues

*****************************************************************

IMPORTANT! Unless you intend to play as an Argonian Vampire, this mod will actually do more harm than good. I advise you to only activate the ESP in your Data Files if you're planning on creating said character.

- You get a second Argonian race in the race selection menu when you create your character. It has our vampiric teeth model, but has normal eyes because this is not a vampiric race yet, you will still have to contract vampirism first.

- Although the custom race looks Argonian, it will not get Argonian-specific race comments such as "Hello, Argonian!". Other race related scripts or dialogue may be broken too (such as the Prisoner NPC at the beginning of the game).

- All NPC vampires have undead Argonian eyes (honestly, they already look weird enough without them). This is why you don't want to enable this data file if you're not actually going to play an argonian vampire.

- NPC Argonian vampires do not have the new Argonian vampire teeth mesh. It is possible to fix this, but since this isn't a patch type of mod, I might have to do that all over again in a few months when/if Bethesda suddenly decides to make vampirism moddable. Someone else can have a go at that, I have better things to do.

- Upon becoming a vampire, the player gets the undead Argonian eyes and all other vampirism traits. It now has both the teeth and the eyes. Huzzah.

- Upon ridding yourself from vampirism, the player regains his old Argonian eyes but keeps the vampiric teeth. There is no way of changing that.

Not too long ago we set out to create a mod that would introduce more Morrowind-like Argonian vampires in Oblivion, as the Oblivion ones had no vampire fangs and ugly humanoid eyes. Sloppy Bethesda, very sloppy. Anyway, what seemed like a rather easy thing to fix quickly turned out to be impossible to mod. You see, Oblivion vampirism is handled by a magic ability script, which can't actually be edited through the TES Construstion set.

We came up with sever alternatives, one which would actually use RaceMenu scripts to alter the facial appearance of an Argonian the second it became a vampire. All alternatives had too many downsides, so I finally came up with this 'As Good As It Gets' mod. It's definetly not perfect, but until Bethesda decides to make some changes to the Construction Set, it's the best we can do.
